Larry Shuck (pictured) has joined precious metals refinery Gannon & Scott as its Arizona plant manager.
According to LinkedIn, Shuck previously worked for 15 y
ears as a plant manager for Master Builders Solutions/BASF. He has also been a voice interpreter for the U.S Army.
In the statement announcing his appointment, Shuck said that his hero is chemist Linus Pauling.
“To some, he may seem like an odd choice, but he’s the only person to win two unshared Nobel Prizes, one in chemistry and one for peace,” Shuck said. “He was a brilliant chemist and considered to be the father of molecular biology. That speaks to the greatness of the man.”
Said CEO Joe Peixoto in the same statement: “One thing that we’ve learned in over 100 years of being in business is you constantly need to improve. We’re confident that Larry will bring new ideas and a fresh perspective to our operations.”
Based in Cranston, R.I., Gannon & Scott processes, assays, and recovers precious metals.
