The Silver Promotion Service (SPS), which was introduced in 2008 by the Washington, D.C.–based Silver Institute to stimulate demand for silver jewelry in major international markets, has debuted a renovation of its website, SavorSilver.com.
The updated site was designed to be a “resource for all things silver,” according to a prepared statement from the organization.
A new Silver News section takes you to short posts with pictures that cover news pertaining to silver, such as designer Elsa Peretti’s passing and Samuel B. winning a CASE Award. The new Silver Trends tab takes you to product roundups under topics including Bridal Jewelry for High Neck Lines (exciting earrings) and Polished Pendants (necklaces with sizable pendants).
And the new Events & Programs section delivers you to virtual silver jewelry shows including the Virtual Silver Pavilion, and also SPS partner collections laid out in shoppable catalog style. The new tab also showcases content taken from trade and consumer publications on everything from reopening after the pandemic lockdowns to data on how modern brides shop.
Though the revamped site is full of useful and educational info, it can be difficult to find elements quickly—case in point: I can no longer find the main trend page I was studying five minutes ago! And the site’s imagery could use some shoring up; the photos are too small in most sections, there are too many logos splashing around, and there are graphic/photo composites that resemble ads but are actually editorial content, which can feel jarring.
Regardless, SavorSilver.com is a great starting point for retailers looking to boost their stores’ breadth of silver inventory. The brands SPS partners with, such as Adel Chefridi and Gabriel New York, are bona fide innovators in the silver space.
“The Silver Promotion Service is honored to serve the jewelry industry as the source for great silver jewelry collections, and timely retail research data and merchandising information,” said SPS director Michael Barlerin in a prepared statement. “The updates to [the website] directly benefit retailers with easy and efficient access to the information they need, and the on-trend silver styles they’re seeking.”
