Collection Spotlight: Imperial’s Vintage 795 Collection of Gold and Pearl Jewelry

Two years ago, Charlotte Bazar started brainstorming ideas for a new pearl jewelry line. The head designer of Imperial knew that any new collection needed to be visually unexpected as well as value oriented—what Imperial is known for—but she struggled to find the right inspiration. That is until she tapped a muse called the 1920s and 1930s.

Bazar immersed herself in the clothing, jewelry, and lifestyle of the era that became the design forced behind Vintage 795, a 14k gold intricate and airy Art Deco–inspired line featuring seed pearls—tiny 2–4 mm numbers that are among her favorites—and akoyas. “The process of how seed pearls form and the amazing way in which they are drilled today, still using time-honored methods, is nothing short of remarkable,” she told JCK. Imperial unveiled the line, containing 31 SKUs, at JCK Las Vegas. Suggested retail prices start at $268.
