Advent calendars have always been a favorite tradition of mine, though it’s one that I have nearly forgotten. It’s time I start them up again this year and let my daughter experience the joys of that admittedly pretty disgusting, crumbly chocolate that’s standard in the cardboard Christmas Advent calendars found in grocery stores everywhere. Ah, the memories.
If Lark & Berry has any say in the matter, though, this year’s Advent calendar could be decidedly more luxurious and definitely not one for the kids.
The London-based fine jeweler that works exclusively with lab-grown stones just introduced a 24-day Advent calendar filled with the most delightful, decadent treats. Making its debut Monday, the box, modeled after the brand’s flagship brick-and-mortar, contains 24 glittering jewels for pierced ears.
Start on December 1 and enjoy a month filled with new goodies, from stud earrings to labrets (an earring with a flat back plate most associated with lip piercings but suitable and very popular for ears) to hoops. A range of styles (a selection pictured here) proves festive for the time of year, but it’s also enduring, bringing sparkle well into 2021 and beyond.
“In our short history, Lark & Berry has been proud to be the ‘first’ several times over now—the first exclusively cultured, designer jewelry brand, the first cultured diamonds worn at the Met Gala in 2019, the first cultured diamonds necklace in an Oscars’ opening performance, and more,” said Lark & Berry founder Laura Chavez in a statement. “So we wanted to break boundaries again by being the first brand to have a beautiful, surprise Advent calendar collection of fine jewelry piercings, the world’s first of its kind featuring stones much more environmentally responsible than mined ones.”
The Advent calendar (pictured at top) retails for £8,950 ($11,590) and is available for pre-order now on larkandberry.com.
