Only you know the answer, but if the dad in your life is into jewelry—and ready to move on from simple and understated silver sports chains—the new additions to Simon G.’s men’s jewelry collection are an electric mix of white-hot titanium, brushed and polished gold, colorful enamel, and fiery diamonds.
There’s an energy to the designs, like an impromptu (socially distanced) concert featuring smooth jazz, with some fusion and funk, and culminating with some old-school 1990s hip-hop (“No need for introductions, ’cause I know you know my name…”).
The men’s pieces, previously available only by special order, received such an overwhelming amount of interest from retailers that the brand decided to create a dedicated men’s line composed of 20 pieces.
“The spirit of the collection lies in the phrase ‘braving the wilderness,’ and it is about living in a polarized culture and standing on your own,” says Simon G. Jewelry CEO Zaven Ghanimian. “The designs are inspired by the patterns found in nature, out in the wild.”
Snakeskin, zebra, tiger stripes, and other animal prints are expressed in the collection’s distinctive zigzag patterns (see bracelets at top), reptilian scales, and rugged textures.
“We’ve also seen a huge comeback with Cuban-chain looks,” adds Ghanimian. “We’ve seen an increase in demand for some of those heavier 1980s and 1990s looks based on special requests for these types of items, and that’s why we have started adding them to our collection.”
The styles shown here are available now and deliver in time for Father’s Day (June 21). And as a reminder, as JCK recently reported, when consumers make Simon G. purchases online, a portion of the profits from every transaction will benefit the retailer partner located closest to the customer.
Look for new pieces to drop this fall—but let’s get Dad started on his collection now.
