If there was ever a time to send a best friend a sweet reminder of your relationship, it’s now.
And Los Angeles–based fine fashion jewelry brand Established Jewelry has cooked up a charming way to do just that. The young brand is hosting a BOGO sale on its precious metal-and-gemstone best friend necklaces through May 1, with the promise that 20% of sales from the pieces will benefit nonprofit No Kid Hungry—which provides meals for food-insecure kids.
The offer is brilliant on a couple of levels. First off, quarantined consumers are looking for ways to connect with their nearest and dearest—and the novelty of Zoom is wearing thin! And gifting a piece of jewelry that’s not only nice, but also meaningful, is a home run in the shaky, scary era we’re currently muddling through.
Secondly, contributing to worthy, timely causes such as No Kid Hungry, which is filling in the nutrition gaps free school lunches have left behind during school closures, not only makes you feel good. It also makes you feel purposeful—an emotion that’s hard to hold after you’ve been quarantined inside your home for weeks on end and have already cleaned the garage and reorganized your kitchen.
“Now, unlike any time in our history, people are missing their loved ones and attempting to stay connected while keeping their physical distance,” Established Jewelry founder and designer Nikki Erwin tells JCK. “Experiencing this, my team and I came up with this idea in hopes that it would spread the love…. It’s important to know, remember, and remind each other that we’re not alone. That we’re in this together.”
