She admitted her role in six robberies
Abigail Lee Kemp, who made headlines last year with her alleged robberies of six jewelry stores, has pleaded guilty to federal robbery and firearm charges.
A statement of facts charges that Kemp (pictured) worked with three associates—Lewis Jones III, Larry Gilmore, and Michael Gilmore—in planning the robberies, and that the trio “instructed her on the proper way to manipulate a handgun, how to act when in a store, how to secure the store employees with zip ties, and what code words to use when communicating during the robberies.”
The three men have not plead guilty.
Kemp’s statement admits to her role in robberies in Woodstock, Ga.; Dawsonville, Ga.; Panama City Beach, Fla.; Bluffton, S.C.; Sevierville, Tenn.; and Mebane, N.C. She also attempted to rob a store in Macon, Ga., but decided not to go through with it when a UPS driver entered the store, the statement said.
