The new appointment is part of the company’s international expansion
Phillips, the international company that conducts auctions of jewelry, watches, and art online and in its galleries, has named Kyoko Hattori (pictured, right) as its regional representative in Japan.
The New York–based company opened a London office in 2014 and an Asian headquarters in Hong Kong in 2015.
Hattori has experience in relationship management, deal origination, and marketing. She has worked with Spencer Stuart & Associates, an international search firm; Aetos Japan, a financial services firm; and McKinsey & Co., a global consulting firm.
“The time is right for Phillips to continue our expansion in the Asian market as we aim to build our reputation as the most innovative auction house in the region,” said Edward Dolman, chairman and chief executive officer. “We are looking at long-term development and a broadening of future auction categories in Asia, and we need to deepen our relationships with high-net-worth individuals and emerging collectors in this important region. I’m delighted that Kyoko has agreed to join us in our mission of building a major presence in the Asian market.”
