In a sign of the increasing importance of the wearable and smart categories to watch brands, Movado has appointed a former Apple exec as its first wearables director.
Jo An Lawson was appointed the Movado Group’s general manager of wearable devices. She formerly worked with Apple as director, global retail marketing and brand experience.
In her new position, the San Francisco–based Lawson will identify opportunities for Movado in the technology area and develop alliances that will allow the company to launch wearable products consistent with its luxury branding.
