Beginning next year, JCK Las Vegas will return to its traditional length of five days, according to show organizer Reed Expo.
The 2015 show will open on Thursday, May 28, and run through Monday, June 1. The show takes place every year at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Convention Center.
The 2014 show, which runs from May 30 to June 2, will stay in its current four-day format, which it switched to in 2009.
JCK Portfolio group vice president Yancy Weinrich says that the move is the result of a poll of the show’s retail buyers, who wanted “an extra day to shop,” as well as consultations with the show’s Advisory Board.
She notes that the retail buyers asked that the show expand to Thursday, instead of the former closing day Tuesday, as that lets them get back to their stores.
JCK sister show LUXURY will remain seven days, Weinrich says. On Thursday, the show will be open only to specific qualified LUXURY and invited JCK buyers, who will be recommended by exhibitors. Following that, it will be open to the buyers from the JCK show at large.
Weinrich says that the show is working on adding events for Thursday to attract buyers. The Diamond Empowerment Fund’s “Diamond in the Sky,” which this year will feature Chaka Khan, is scheduled for that night, and the show is considering adding additional events.
