Irvine Robinson, former owner of I & R Jewelers in Silver Spring, Md., died on Jan. 4 at the age of 93.
Robinson opened his business with his wife in 1981 and closed the store when he retired in 1996, according to his obituary in The Washington Post. He received the honor of “jeweler of the year” by the Mid-America Jewelers Association in 1988.
Robinson, who suffered from complications of Alzheimer’s disease, is survived by his wife of 50 years, three daughters, and 11 grandchildren.
