From July 10-24, auction house Gaston & Sheehan will hold an online public auction of jewelry pieces confiscated from convicted mobster Frank Calabrese.
Calabrese’s Illinois home was raided two years ago after he was convicted for numerous accounts of murder. According to the Daily Mail, federal agents found jewelry, guns, and money hidden behind a family portrait in Calabrese’s suburban home.
The Texas-based auction house, which does work for the U.S. Marshals service, acquired Calabrese’s possessions.
The sale, titled “Family Secrets,” features approximately 275 lots, with an excess of 500 individual pieces including diamonds, rings, coins, and watches. The items are worth approximately $500,000.
“There is a loose diamond weighing over 8 ct. which will highlight the auction,” Bob Sheehan, owner of Gaston & Sheehan, says. “Calabrese also owned some initialed collectors items that seem to be of interest to the public.”
