
Aaron Chitrik, founder of Aaron and Son, a Parksville, N.Y., wholesaler of diamond mountings, died Oct. 27 at age 73.
Born in Russia, Chitrick moved to Antwerp and Montreal before settling in Brooklyn in 1957. Along with his brother, Hirsh, he started the gold department at Citra Trading in 1963. He opened Aaron and Son in 1995.
In addition to his work in the jewelry industry, Chitrick was an ordained rabbi and renowned expert on Hebrew manuscripts, who was responsible for annotating 300 volumes of documents from Chabad’s Central Library, according to an article on lubavitch.com.
Chitrik is survived by his son, Hershey; daughter, Rachel Gross; brother, Hirsh; and sisters, Chaya and Shaina.
