The gold price hit an all-time record
high of $1,452 an ounce, breaking the $1,450 benchmark, on April 5.
At press time, it had declined a bit to
$1,449.50.
Analysts called the surge a response to
world unrest and increasing oil prices.
The gold price first hit $1,400 an
ounce November 8.
