John Hardy Launches Flagship Store

The 19-year-old John Hardy brand—whose sterling dot-motif
jewels are crafted in Bali—has opened its first retail operation. Created in partnership with the Masari Group (a 30-year-old purveyor of fashion
brands like Hermès and Lanvin), the 22-square-meter store
is located
in the Plaza Indonesia shopping mall in Jakarta.

CEO Damien Dernoncourt and Guy Bedarida,
creative director and head designer

The boutique’s interior reflects the natural beauty and
spirit of Bali with bamboo columns and decorative carved panels,
silver-accented display cases, river rocks, and one-of-a-kind, hand-carved door
handles. Designed by creative director and head designer Guy
Bedarida, the dragon-motif handles are
crafted from sterling silver and Indonesian black palm wood and paved in
black sapphires; the dragon’s eyes are set with moon quartz. All materials suit
the Naga—or dragon-like—symbol, a revered mythological creature representing
prosperity and good luck in Asia.

One-of-a-kind hand-carved door handles were designed by Guy
Bedarida, creative director and head designer of John Hardy

In celebration of the boutique’s opening, Bedarida created
two one-of-a-kind jewels: a
sterling silver and 18k yellow gold Macan pendant set with blue and white
sapphires, and a Naga cuff in sterling silver and 18k yellow gold with diamond
pavé and cabochon rubies. The flagship will carry the full John Hardy
collection, along with select pieces from the Cinta collection.

The inside of the new John Hardy boutique reflects the
natural beauty and spirit of Bali.
