Present-day owners of 109-year-old Bernard Nacht in Manhattan are drilling down into their design archives to offer clients something new and thoroughly authentic.
The Vintage Brilliant collection is a 21-SKU line of diamond rings (no semi-mounts) and one pendant and earring style in 14k gold, 18k gold, and platinum. Designs are vintage, based on founder Bernard’s original models and cast a spotlight onto “the stunning designs and romance of the past with very attractive price points,” explains Ross Nacht, director of sales and brand development. “We have other styles from Bernard’s original models, but we are rolling out the line slowly.”
To differentiate the new offerings from those of his great grandfather, round-brilliant-cut diamonds—as opposed to vintage cuts—are being used. Plus, the ring styles of Gramercy and Mulberry can be ordered with aquamarines, sapphires, and emeralds, while the Vesey pendant can be made with a hanging diamond, aquamarine, amethyst, or sapphire.
“These styles have been passed down through four generations since their beginning on Maiden Lane in New York City,” adds Nacht. “Each style is named after a lower Manhattan street where Bernard conducted business. And because the styles are made from the original models from the 1920s and 1930s, their focus is on antique and vintage motifs, including fine filigree design and engraving.”
Retail prices in 14k gold start at $960. Pieces are ready to ship now and buy-in is five jewels.
