Forget ear cuffs, climbers, and single statement earrings. Well, don’t really forget about them, they’re great looks, too. But add this to the list of current obsessions: mismatched earrings. Designs can range from completely different shapes and colors from one earring to the next or a more subtle, varied arrangement of the same stones in differently organized tiers. There are opposing color patterns and varying icons, such as the sun in one ear and the moon in the other. Some mismatched pairs are more subtle, while others depict two very distinctly different aesthetics. My favorite of the bunch below are the ones from Lauren K (a really artful but timeless mix) and Genevieve Yang (I’m a sucker for anything astronomical). There are so many ways to do this, and new creations are constantly popping up. The idea appears to be experiencing a surge in popularity right now.
